The latest data from the Brazilian Solar Photovoltaic Association shows that the country’s installedsolar power capacity has exceeded 55 gigawatts (GW), accounting for 22.2% of the nationalelectricity structure, officially becoming the second largest source of energy after hydropower.Among them, the installed capacity of distributed photovoltaic systems is 37.6 GW, and the installedcapacity of large-scale photovoltaic power stations is 17.6 GW, demonstrating the characteristics ofnational participation in energy transformation.

Since 2012, the Brazilian solar industry has attracted over 25.1 bilion Brazilian reals in investmentand created 16 milion green jobs. In the first three months of 2025, 147000 new photovoltaicsystems will be installed nationwide, providing power to 228700 households. At present.photovoltaic applications are widely used in more than 5500 cities in the country, with Minas Geraisleading the country with 900000 installations.

This industry has helped Brazil reduce 66.6 milion tons of carbon dioxide emissions and contributed78 bilion Brazilian reals in tax revenue. The Brazilian Photovoltaic Association stated that with theincreasing global demand for clean energy, the Brazilian solar industry will continue to lead theenergy transition and strengthen its important position in the international green energy market.(This article is from the official website of Jian Dao wwwseetao.com.
