Recently, China Energy Engineering Group and the Sarawak Investment Authority of Malaysia officially signed a memorandum of cooperation on the Sarawak 2 GW new energy project, marking a new journey for the cooperation between the two sides in the field of clean energy.
The Sarawak State Government has high hopes for this cooperation. Awang Tengah, Chairman of the Sarawak State Investment Authority, made it clear that the state government has always adhered to an open and inclusive investment policy and actively welcomed foreign investment and business. Cooperation with China Energy Engineering Group will not only enhance Sarawak’s leading position in the global clean energy investment landscape, but will also become an important engine for promoting local low-carbon transformation and achieving sustainable development goals. To ensure the smooth progress of the project, the Sarawak State Government will provide policy support throughout the process, fully cooperate with the project planning, construction and operation, and escort the project to land.
China Energy Engineering Group also demonstrated its firm determination to cooperate and confidence in development. Wang Honggang, head of the group, said that the group is deeply implementing the “1331” strategy, continuing to deepen the global clean energy market, and is committed to providing green, efficient and safe power solutions to all parts of the world. In the future, the investment group will closely focus on the development needs of Sarawak, focusing on promoting the development of new energy projects such as photovoltaic power generation and power grid upgrades. Through scientific planning and orderly advancement, the project will be implemented in phases, injecting strong impetus into the development of Sarawak’s green economy, and assisting the optimization of the local energy structure and the realization of sustainable development goals. The signing of this cooperation memorandum is an important beginning for both parties to complement each other’s advantages and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. It also sets a new example for China-Malaysia cooperation in the field of clean energy.
